Another View, It Continues

Good Afternoon from Sunny Florida…

Sure winter was here for a couple of weeks, but today 80* and sunny.  I'll take it. I just thought I'd better get a note from my office to your desktop and catch you up the best I can. It's been a ride down here and we're enjoying every bit of it. Lot's of time to re-think, re-build, re-vamp and settle into a dream and watch it unfold in living color. BPnPOffice

As you know by now, Pat and I are looking for another boat here in Florida and it has taken up more time then I thought I had on my hands. I sure wish things were simple, but I'm learning a lot about the business world and just how complicated things can get. I guess that comes with putting the years on. When I was a few years younger, I'd just "do it", and then make the decision right.

Now I'm maybe over thinking everything. So today, I've decided to just make it simple again. It's not worth all the headaches and sleepless nights. I love what I do. I will continue doing it. I will maintain my youthful joy and…  Well, just "DO IT!"

In that light, Pat and I and Capt. Ron are heading to the east cost of Florida tomorrow and looking at a boat that we've got our eye on. She's real pretty and does come with some issues that we need to look very close at. But I remember when I met Pat, I came with some pretty big issues too. Seems to be working out after all these years, so I'm not afraid.

As you can see by the photo above, I've moved my office to a place that has no window and a great view. The man in the photo, right above my Bloody Mary, is concentrating on a hot bean bag game. There's 3 courts there on the sand and he's pretty good.

In any case, I'll let you know more about this boat as time passes. We should have everything in order by mid week next week. I want to blubber it all out know, alas I can not. We don't have a deal yet and heck, I don't know who reads all this stuff out there. But you'll be the second ones to know.

So keep everything you have crossed and lets just see this wonderful vessel not having BIG issues and we can slip into her with ease. I'm down here in Florida and I'm jonesing to get back on the water. Sailing other peoples boats has never been my favorite sport, but I'm at that point.

Keep in mind though, I'm still in business. If you want to go sailing in Fort Myers Beach, or take a sailing charter in Fort Myers Beach…  Call me! If it's in the future, you will be able to be one of the first on the new vessel, or remember I have sailing friends down here. Capt. Dan aboard Star of Orion is running just fine. He's in and out all the time and I can hook you up, so drop me a line or give me a call. FantaSea Sailing is still the place to get in contact with the sailors down here, no matter if you are looking for a 1/2 day sail, or overnight sailing charters in Fort Myers Beach, I can hook you up.

Be sure and go to FaceBook and become a FAN of FantaSea Sailing. You can click on those links, or you can just go to http://www.Facebook.com and enter FantaSea Sailing in the search box.

Thanks for checking in on us and we'll be in touch after we take a look tomorrow.

I'll see you on the dock…

A Take it Easy Weekend…

Things have been busy. It's been cold. I've had a cold. I've been doing a ton of research trying to get a handle on this new boat deal. Pat's been selling garlic. We're cleaning house getting ready to make a move. Making DVD's out of videos. Packin' smaller…

So this weekend we are just laying low, watching a few movies, and talking. Changing the world. We do that every once and a while. It's a weekend we've been needing.  We'll take it.

Calls are staring to come in about the new business and the FaceBook Fan Page is an interesting project. You can keep connected by going to the main FantaSea Sailing Website, http://www.FantaSeaSailing.com and clicking on the FaceBook link to check it out.  Seems like there's no end to the social media revolution. I even tweet on Twitter every now and then. Still trying to figure all that out. In time.

The other night, Pat and I enjoyed a great sunset from our home in Fort Myers.HomeSunset

The weather was a bit cold, but the sunset was one of the warmest gifts we've had for a while. It was good to take a moment and enjoy the magic of a good sunset.

On Monday we are going to continue the process of doing what we can do to acquire our wonderful, beautiful, boat.

The weather is breaking nicely here in Florida. Sailing Charters in Fort Myers Beach are a dream come true for a lot of people and this year, like the years past, will be spent fulfilling those dreams. We'll have a ball together.

So as the progress continues in the amazing story of purchasing our new boat, I will sign off for now. Don't hesitate to call if you have any questions. We are here for you and before you know it you will be down here looking to go sailing in Fort Myers Beach. Keep in mind, if for any reason I can't get you out sailing on the Gulf of Mexico I have a couple of great captains with great boats that will get you out.

Capt. Dan and with Magic Wind Adventure Sailing aboard Star of Orion is sailing daily out of Salty Sam's Marina also. He is getting pretty busy this season with half day sails and sunset sails.

So check back often. Make your plans early. You really want to take advantage of our Boat & Breakfast Experience. It's a wonderful way to get in some sailing and some pretty special boat time. So when you think you can make it down and your thoughts wonder to sailing in Fort Myers Beach, give me a call. We are your number one spot for sailing information in Fort Myers Beach.

I'll see you on the dock…

Baby it’s COLD Outside

So what's up with the winter here in Fort Myers Beach? Or for the whole state of Florida? I've never seen weather this cold, for this long since I've been visiting and living in Florida. Plop on top of that that I've been fighting off a cold for over a week and I feel like it IS actually winter.

Ok, I'm whining. With the temps in the low 40's for a high and into the upper 20's for a low, it's hard to get out of the house and into some shorts and t-shirts. I'm catching up on my movies that I haven't seen and cuddled up with Pat and Maggie, in sweat pants, a t-shirt with a long sleeve denim shirt to top it off. Yep, I've even got socks on my feet. No time to be playing in the water, the Gulf of Mexico is down to 54 degrees. I'm not impressed.

The problem, as I see it is that the polar jet stream is dipping all the way down to Sarasota and pulling all that COLD air right down on top of us. I'm sure there will be repercussions, fruit will go up, citrus will skyrocket, veggies will enter new highs, etc. People that are here are keeping inside instead of playing on the beach. The entertaining thing is looking at all the clothing that people are wearing. The combinations of clothes is wonderful to watch. They are digging in boxes that they haven't dug in for years. All that left over stuff from the north. Gloves that don't match sweatshirts and leather, it's all fun.

It's been cold for a while. We usually get a cold front, knock us down to the 60's for a high for a couple of days and then recover to the upper 70's in a couple of days… That lasts for about a week and then another cold front repeats the cycle. BUT with this deep polar air, we've been cold and breaking records. Snow in Orlando and Daytona today. Go figure. By next Friday, mid 70's can't wait.

As you know, Pat, Maggie and I are looking for a new boat. We've looked at a few and traveled, even to the Bahamas, to pick out the best boat we can get for the money. 2027982_1_thumb

We've been looking at a great vessel and I want to give you a quick peek, so you can put her in your thoughts. So here she is…

Now I'm not going into any detail, I just want you to know she's a beautiful 47 footer that is 30 years old and knows her stuff on the water. We put in an offer and are trying to work up the details. I'll let you know more as time progresses. I have a feeling we'll be making the delivery and sailing in Fort Myers Beach again soon.

FantaSea Sailing is going to continue the tradition which I built with my last business Magic Wind Adventure Sailing. Great times, safe passages and a chance to enjoy your time on the sea.

FantaSea Sailing is specializing in small intimate charters for special people, just like you. We will offer overnight adventures, so plan ahead. Book early for our Boat & Breakfast Experience.

Remember for those half day and sunset cruises, call Capt. Dan aboard Star of Orion. CLICK HERE for further information. Capt. Dan is the new owner and you will enjoy your time on the water with him. He is continuing the tradition of having a good time sailing and is continuing to hold the rank of #1 attraction out of 34 attractions in Fort Myers at Trip Adviser. Keep it up Captain…

So as I sign off for now, enjoy the Picture 5  following radar shot that I took this morning… Wow, the snow was coming down and moving south. It's still a pretty crappy day this evening. 37 degrees and raining. We'll talk soon, time for another cup of tea with lemon.

Contact me if you want to talk about sailing in Fort Myers Beach, if I can't get you out, I've got friends that can…

I'll see you on the dock…
