Hurricane Alex Hitting Mexico

Just thought I'd put up a photo of Hurricane Alex hitting the northern coast of Mexico. Glad I'm not there. It's a category 1, but as Jimmy says, "There ain't no reason for hurricane season."

Picture-3 From what I can see, he's pretty big, but is keeping his winds down to around 90 mph.  That makes him a category 1. Still enough to keep you on your toes.

You can click on the photo to enlarge it in a new window.

One down…

Now it's going to be clean up time. In fact if I could get there, I'd love t help.

Also they say it will increase the wave hight and push the waves in the direction of the panhandle of Florida. It just seems to me no matter what direction they go, they'll shake up the water in the Gulf. As you can see, Alex is going to do what he wants.

HURRICANE ALEX DISCUSSION NUMBER  21

NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL   AL012010

400 PM CDT WED JUN 30 2010

AFTER A FEW HOURS OF A TRACK BETWEEN NORTH-NORTHWEST AND NORTHWEST

EARLIER TODAY…AIRCRAFT…SATELLITE AND RADAR FIXES INDICATE THAT

ALEX HAS TURNED BACK TO THE WEST AT AN AVERAGE SPEED OF ABOUT 11

KNOTS. THE RIDGE THAT WAS ANTICIPATED TO BUILD NORTH OF THE

HURRICANE HAS MATERIALIZED AND IS NOW FORCING ALEX TO TAKE A LEFT

TURN DIRECTLY TOWARD THE COAST OF MEXICO. THE RIDGE IS FORECAST TO

PERSIST AND ALEX SHOULD MAINTAIN THIS GENERAL WESTWARD TRACK FOR

THE NEXT DAY OR TWO UNTIL DISSIPATION OVER MEXICO.

ALEX IS A LARGE HURRICANE AND BOTH HURRICANE AND TROPICAL STORM

FORCE WINDS EXTEND A GREAT DISTANCE FROM THE CENTER. ONLY A SMALL

DEVIATION TO THE NORTH OF THE TRACK…LIKE THE ONE THAT OCCURRED

THIS MORNING…WILL BRING HURRICANE FORCE WINDS TO THE SOUTHERN

TEXAS COAST. THEREFORE…WE WOULD RATHER KEEP THE HURRICANE

WARNINGS FOR THIS PORTION OF THE TEXAS COAST AT THIS TIME.

SATELLITE IMAGES AND DATA FROM THE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT

INDICATE THAT ALEX IS BETTER ORGANIZED…AND THAT THE

WINDS HAVE INCREASED. THE MAXIMUM FLIGHT LEVEL WINDS REPORTED SO FAR

ARE 96 KNOTS AND SFMR REPORTED 81 KNOTS TO THE NORTHWEST OF THE

CENTER. IN ADDITION…THE EYE HAS BECOME DISTINCT ON VISIBLE IMAGES

AND IS SURROUNDED BY A CIRCULAR AREA OF DEEP CONVECTION.  BASED ON

THESE DATA…THE INITIAL INTENSITY HAS BEEN INCREASED TO 80 KNOTS.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS COULD ALLOW ALEX TO BECOME A CATEGORY TWO

HURRICANE BEFORE LANDFALL.

We're looking forward to getting this saying good-by to Alex…

More Oil Spill Information

Good Morning… I just thought I'd keep you informed about the oil spill, if you're following it.

As a charter business in SW Florida, I have my head in this and am watching the effects of this disaster build. I'm also very interested in the direction of the flow and the computer information and forecasting. This is a new and real problem and nature will take her course and try to clean up the mess that we have caused.

Here's a link with interesting info for you. Thanks for checking in and use the comment link below if you have any ideas, comments or questions.

Tropical Storm Alex

Gulf of Mexico information:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/oil-spill-map.htm

Well the first storm of the season is named Alex. My first mate is named Alex. I just glad that it's not going to effect the west coast of Florida. That would be grounds to "Walk the Plank."  Come to think of it, I should put a plank onboard. It just may come in useful.

Picture-2 They are telling us that because of weather conditions, currents and water temps that it's going to be an active season for storms.

I have to work hard to visualize them not hitting the Gulf of Mexico for several reasons.

The number one reason is that the Gulf is very sensitive right now with all the oil that has been placed in her. It would be a major disaster to have all that oil flying around and making a huge mess everywhere.

Plus we need the Gulf to heal as well as all the people, sea life and coastal communities. So let's all see these storms just moving north and fading away in the north Atlantic somewhere.

Today I move over to Bro. Dan's home and let Melisa his amazing caregiver take a few day break. It will be great for Dan and I to kick back and jam a bit as well as spend time healing each other. Yep, my back is still giving me some grief, but Bro. Dan is on the liver list waiting for a transplant. So in comparison, I think I'll go with a back ache.

By the way, if you are not an organ donor, it's pretty easy to do. Just go to http://www.donatelife.net, choose your state and follow the simple directions. If you have questions about it, contact Bro. Dan Palmer and he can answer your questions and take the myths out of organ donation.

BrotherDan@msn.com

It's the right thing to do and should not be an option. You can save 8 lives by giving up those parts that you will not need anymore. Don't take 'em with you.

Sailing in Fort Myers Beach is beautiful. It's summertime, the beaches are still beautiful and the oil is hundreds of miles away, so scoot on down here and enjoy the beach and Gulf of Mexico.

Call me when you want to get out on the water. I'm here for you and my phone rings all over the country.

I'll see you on the dock…

Hi, Just Welcoming Me Back…

I've had a bit of a writers block for a few weeks.  Lots of things have happened:

Took a trip with Panacea to Key West along with Star of Orion

My Dad passed away

Traveled to SC to see the kids

Traveled to CA twice

Put a show together for the Fair Oaks Renaissance Festival

Now here in CA and flying to Sacramento to perform and visit family and friends

Flying back to FL on the 4th of July

All this and my back has been out… Really out. Contemplating steroid shots for pain management. The MRI showed all sorts of problems there, BUT it won't beat me down. I'm on it and I'll heal fast. I don't have time for another option.

So that's what's been going on. I'll break these down in the days to come with some pics for everyone. I've got some time to do it between flights.

As for the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico… Let's just say it is truly a tragedy. I can't imagine what the future will bring.  Sure I'm ticked, but that's not going to solve a thing. Time to fix it and make a positive approach.

I received an email that needs to be sent to everyone. No mater what you believe, no matter how you pray, dance or meditate, please read on…

What I have just heard of is happening this Sunday. You can participate no mater where you are. Here's what you can do…

On Sunday, June 27th at 3:00 p.m. EDST you need to stop what you are doing. Get a glass of water or be around water and get involved with the following prayer:

Dr. Masaru Emoto, the scientist from Japan who has done all the research and publications about the characteristics of water and how, among other things, water physically responds to emotions, has proposed a prayer for the Gulf situation.

Right now, most of us have the predominantly angry emotion when we consider what is happening in the Gulf. While certainly we are justified in that emotion, we may be of greater assistance to our planet and its life forms, if we sincerely, powerfully and humbly pray the prayer that Dr. Emoto, himself, has proposed…

"I send the energy of Love and Gratitude to the water and all the living creatures in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings. To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, plankton's, corals, algae and all living creatures… I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I Love you."

We are not powerless. We are powerful. Our united energy, speaking this prayer daily… Multiple times daily… Can literally shift the balance of destruction that is happening.

We don't have to know how… We just have to recognize that the power of Love is greater than any power active in the Universe today.

Please join me in repeating this healing prayer of Dr. Emoto's. Feel free to cop and paste this to send it around the planet. Let's take charge, and do our own clean up!

Go to Dr. Emoto's site to learn more: http://www.masaru-emoto.net/english/dr.emotos_message_2.html

Check out this site to learn more about his work with water: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAvzsjcBtx8

Sunday will be a special day for all of us, but use those words many times a day. Change the water. Heal the Gulf.

I'll see you on the dock…
