Ugly Toes Doing What They Love To Do

When it's a foggy morning, I look at this photo and think of the sun and sea.

DSC03914 The water is blue and the sand is warm. It just doesn't get much better than this.

I'm just heading out this morning with a 6 hour sail for a birthday lady and her friends. She said that this was going to be the best birthday of her life. I'm proud to be a part of that.

Winds are going to be NE 5 to 10 and seas will be calm, so she should have a very, very comfortable ride.

I'm looking forward to a nice 3 day charter starting on Friday with a guy, his brother and their Dad. Heading to Burnt Store Marina the first night, anchoring off Useppa the second night and sailing the "Loop" up the outside and down the inside of Cayo Costa, Captivia and Sanibel.  We'll visit Cabbage Key too. It's a great sail and one of our favorites. A good 10 to 11 hour leg the first day, a full day on Charlotte Harbor the next day and then down the Intracoastal Waterway the last day.

Well I've got to get out of here and clean up Panacea. She loves sailing on the Gulf of Mexico and don't forget you can also enjoy sailing in Fort Myers Beach. Just give me a call. 888-582-9046.

It Was a Busy Week

I have to tell you, I've missed the weeks where I sail everyday and have to sleep on the boat to find time to do the maintenance. Since I sold Magic Wind Adventure Sailing, it's been a long time since I've had a ball bustin' week.  It' felt good and it will continue this week till Sunday night. FantaSea Sailing is alive and well.

No complaints, Panacea is doing just fine. She did develop a leak in the transmission and I'm trying to find the right guy to be able to pull it out and get it back in between sails. I ran across a guy that is going to pull it, take it to his shop, fix the seals and replace it, but he's good and has a busy schedule too, so we are working on finding a day.

In the mean time, I have a few quarts of 30 onboard and check her often. All is well at this point.

I'm also going to start a varnishing project next week and get the toe rails taken care of. Another couple of coats will keep her happy till summer.

The bimini going to be pulled and patched up. It's time to put some support canvas along the rails so she'll keep everyone in shade. I mean the ones that want shade. I'd like to find a good sewing machine so I could do those type of projects myself, but I haven't found one yet that can take the work I want to do with it. If anyone knows of one for sale in SW Florida, give me a call and I'll see what I can do to pick it up.

Speaking of projects, I just ordered a new head. My old one is getting pretty rough and I was going to do a rebuild, but the parts were pretty expensive and the casing was cracked at one time and is sealed up with 5200 or something so it needed a bit more repair than I was willing to put into that old of head, so Panacea is getting a new Raritan Electric/manual head. I told Alex about it and added it's only 4 bolts and two hoses. He said, "Let's wait until after this weeks 3 day charter…" Boy he's a smart guy.

Sailing and the weather has been great the last couple of weeks. The winds have been in the power boaters corner, but that's changing each day and we are expecting 10 to 15 out of the south east starting on Friday morning. That's the day we head out to sea and head north to the Boca Grande for the first day of the 3 day carter. Looking forward to the ride up the coast.

In any case, you need to call me. I want to go sailing with you and your guests. We're having a ball and as always I don't want you to miss out on anything.

It's easy… Pick a date(s). Call me and let me make some suggestions for destinations, menu's, marinas or anchorages. Pretty simple huh?

Sailing in Fort Myers Beach is as amazing as it has always been. Sailing in the Gulf of Mexico is beautiful. The water is clear, the sun is warm and the dolphins are waiting for you.
